Summary of my active research projects

Emotion Sensing Support System (ESSS)

ESSS is a technological solution for assisting interviewer decision-making process, during interview scenarios. It is based on remote sensing technology and combination of multiple psychophysiological models. Emphasis is given on the detection of hidden emotional state, which are essential for psychiatric medical diagnosis, and for law enforcement questioning procedures. read more...

Multi-Sensor Capturing System

Over the last few years the use of multi-modality for emotion and behavior analysis becomes a popular approach. This approach requires the use of multiple sensors in order to capture information from different modalities. In current work we are developing a multi-sensor capturing system providing hardware and software solutions for sensors fusion, sensors calibration, sensor synchronization, and sensors simplified operation. The current version of our system consist of high-speed, high resolution, and thermal cameras; eye tracking and motion capturing systems; microphone array, pressure and photo-sensors. read more...

Sitting Posture Trainer

Look around yourself in the office, how many people have a good sitting posture? Increasing number of scientific findings suggest a strong correlation between incorrect sitting habits and physical / mental illnesses. Although, majority of people in modern society spend a longer hours sitting, little is done in order to educate and promote good sitting habits. The main goal of this project is to develop a wearable device for sitting posture monitoring that provides the user with a physical feedback to encourage the maintenance of correct sitting posture. read more...

Multi-Sensory Datasets for Emotional and Behavioral Analysis

Development of emotion and behavior analysis rely on combination between the psychology and technology fields. The progress in both fields are strongly depends on high quality emotional and behavioral datasets, that are used for development of psychological theoretical models and tracking / classification algorithms evaluation. This work focus on establishment of multi-cultural, multi-sensor datasets that are captured during psychological experiments. The work on this project, done in collaboration with Human Communication Research Center in University of Arizona and Emotion Sensing Center in University of Tsukuba.

Multimedia Data Management for Sport Education

We explore the use of multimedia technology for sports education, in particular for disciplines that consist of a large variety of complicate movements such as martial arts and dancing. The three main objective are: 1) development of multi-sensor capturing system for recording coach instructions during the practice, 2) provide solutions for multimedia data organization and documentation based on cloud technology, 3) development of affective tools, based on multimedia data, to improve athletes day-to-day training experience and boost there progress. In addition, we are interested in exploring our technology for establishment of remote instruction seminars and on-line education.
